Frans Brewis

Position:
Teacher/Mentor Year 9 & GCSE Science Teacher
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education majoring in Science and Mathematics from Stellenbosch University.
I started my teaching career at Rhenish Primary School in Stellenbosch, where I spent three years teaching a variety of subjects including Science, Mathematics and Social Sciences. I was privileged to be involved, at a coaching level, in a variety of sports and, being Head of Rugby, the ability to organise national tours. My international experience comes from the last three years, where I was based in the Republic of Moldova, a beautiful Eastern European country. My primary focus was in the sciences, teaching from Year 7 until AS Level (Year 12). I am an avid supporter of physical and mental exercise. Hobbies for me are geographical and environment based. Therefore, sport is my biggest hobby. I love playing any sport that involves moving. In South Africa it was primarily cricket at a club level, hiking and surfing. In Moldova, it was badminton, gym and running. So I am really looking forward to everything Brazil and Brasilia has to offer because there is such a wide variety of amazing activities to get involved in. I have already taken up football and look forward to getting the most out of the beautiful surroundings and cultural experiences, such as Brazilian jiu jitsu, capoeira, waterfall hikes, kayaking in Lago Paranoá and certainly more football. I also like to read.
