Zoë Danielle Sanger
Year 9 Teacher
BA (Hons) English and Media from University of Portsmouth, QTS from Canterbury University, TEFL Certified
I have 12 years experience as a qualified teacher both in the UK and in Brazil. In the UK, I taught English Language and Literature and Media in various settings such as a non-selective school co-educational school, a selective school and a private boarding school with international students. In Brazil, I worked at a reputable high-achieving school in São Paulo where I was also promoted to Head of Year and in charge of the welfare and academic progress of an entire year group. Although I love teaching, particularly sharing my love of literature, my favourite part of school-life is the wealth of extra-curricular opportunities on offer. I was fortunate enough to lead various trips - including a trip to Brasilia followed by Zambia - and support many hiking trips exploring the wealth of natural wonders in Brazil. I have enjoyed working at all of my schools and I am looking forward to working at BSB and being a part of your community. I am passionate about exercise, travelling and nature and am most happy when I can combine all three. These passions have been put to good use at school too but outside the classroom, I enjoy learning Portuguese, how to DJ and most recently how to program. LIke most people, I enjoy watching shows, reading books and listening to podcasts. I am most drawn to anything that develops my understanding of people and culture. Unlike most people, I adore antiques including furniture and cars. Recently, I fulfilled a personal dream and bought a 1980s Kombi and converted it into a Camper. I am looking forward to learning about the culture and brief history of Brasilia and exploring the city and the surrounding nature. I am also on the hunt for the best place for a sushi rodizio!
